with the Z06. My wife and I took a little trip to Ohio over the weekend and I decided I wanted to take the 04 Z over the 08 C6. That car is just plain awesome I averaged almost 30 mpg and the seats were so comfortable. You would never imagine a 405 hp. car could be so comfortible and yet get that good of gas mileage. My C6 can only get 25-26 mpg at best on the highway. Trust me I'm not much of a person who really cares about gas mileage, but after driving 500 miles this weekend it did pay to drive the Z and I had a ton of fun with it too.

Took my '02 Z06 to SoCal a couple of weeks ago (1800 miles round trip). Likewise, great mileage, very comfortable seats and ride and she didn't miss a beat.

I cant imagine the C6 being different (havent gotten mine yet), but at 5'8" I'll tell you this much... did you know that you can stretch out in a C5?
Loooong trips, wife would drive and I'd climb into the hatchback behind the rear seats, my head in the left rear corner and my feet sticking between the two front seats.
Probably not the smartest thing to do, nor safest... but when you have chronic back problems, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.
Well I'm not sure what seats you are comparing the C5 Z06 seats to as being comfortable but in my opinion the C5 Z06 seats seats are horribly uncomfortable. My wife and I can stand about 1 hour sitting in them and then they become a butt/back sore subject. Chevy did a crap job designing comfortable seats in our opinion and if we gotta take a long trip over 150 miles or so and we want comfort it aint gonna be in the Vette thats for sure BUT I didnt buy it for long trips or comfort.

I find the seats in my C5 z06 much more comfortable then the already comfy and supportive ones in my c5 coupe...I love driving my z06 for long streches on nice long high ways, can't think of a better car for the job

On my 1,100 mile journey back from getting my car the seats/ whole car was surprisingly comfy. The ride wasn’t bad at all considering what it is and that the car is lowered.
Keep in mind I came from a WRX which was mostly track car with coilovers and 800/600 lb/in springs.
Glad to hear that the Z06s seats are comfortable on long trips... I will need comfort when I get one and have to drive 900 miles to an event I want to be able to get out and walk...lol
I keep hearing that if you behave with the cars they will return good MPGs on the highway.

My 02 C5Z never gets better than 24-26 on the highway (I guess the updated tune on the 04's improved the gas mileage) and the seats are lousy - the back cushions are comfortable but the short, unsupportive seat cushions are not particularly (especially compared to the superior seats in my old 95 C4). Otherwise, the C5Z is great highway car, particularly, when equipped with extremely quiet and smooth riding Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas.
just came back from a 600 mile trip in the 02 ZO6. On the way up I was able to get 29.7 mpg on the average. On the way back, got 27.8 mpg. (Guess I was in a hurry to get home.) like everyone else, great car and if you drive it right, great mpg. for a sport car.
I came from a 2003 Cobra and the comfort level in my 03 Z is muuuuuuch better and the seats are very comfy. The headrests hit my head perfect and are very soft!
My wife has commented on the C5 Zo6 seats many times – “the 99 SS Camaro were much more comfortable then the Corvette”. I too must agree on this. We are heading this month from Placerville CA to Island Park ID ~ 800 miles. My brother bought a new 2008 C6 w/Z51 package. This will be interesting on gas mileage between the two. To date my best has been 26. I expect he will be way more comfortable in his decked out C6 then we will be in the C5 Zo6 with Borla Stingers. I don’t expect we will have the radio on much between the exhaust and tire noise.

PLUS, it's great fun passing Pruises on I-5
LOL. The Prius is a very popular car in Boulder. Duh. About a week ago I pulled up to a light next to one. The guy looked over at me with a look of contempt, so I revved the engine for him for all it was worth. When we went green I let him have about 10 car lengths, and the blew by him, signaled, and pulled over into his lane to make a turn that was out of my way. Yea, I know I was being an ahole, but hey it sure was fun!
