I took my vette in for inspection yesterday. Two cars that started after me finished significantly before me - almost twice as fast. I knew the car never left the property but was curious why it took so much longer. The inspectors answer was it didn't take longer. Okay... Then he said it took longer because he wanted to make sure he got the sticker on straight. Then he said it also took longer because the low fuel warning kept him from reading the mileage. So he went from denial to giving two excuses.
The part that really got me wondering was this morning I noticed the clock was off by 5 hours and 20 minutes and I know it was accurate when I dropped the car off. The clock has never reset itself before.
I suppose I am being paranoid, but this experience was kinda weird. What's the worst that could have happended?
What the hell kind of inspection do they do there? Here, the car is always in view, and you are right there to watch. It only takes about 15 minutes. If all that stuff was reset, THEY did it, and they were doing something they probably shouldn't. Weren't you able to stay there, and watch the inspection? The problem now, is proving they f'ed with your car. From now on, bring it somewhere else, and never let it leave your sight.
No joy riding. He drove it from one side of the building to the other. My concern was that he did something to the car that would affect the security. But I am guessing...
Security is a HUGE problem now, you can never be too safe. Just to be sure, alert people like your neighbors to be on the lookout, and perhaps file a report or a warning to the plice? I dunno, but my brother's car was broekn into recently and his HOUSE key was stolen. My parent's had a fear of the thief returning and breaking into the HOUSE which is clearly unacceptable, so we had our locks replaced.
