I purchased a column lock by-pass from Corvettes of Houston and installed it per the instructions. I verified that there was no K-cable installed. After installing the by-pass I pulled fuses #25 and #29 for ten minutes. Afterwards I get the Service Column Lock error and the gas pump cuts off. I have tried pulling the fuses several times with no luck. Any idea what I might be doing wrong? Thanks in advance... 2003 Corvette.
Randy, If you still can't get it to work as the other post instructions stated you may want to try this link.http://www.ls1howto.com/index.php?article=24 This is how I installed my COH kit earlier this spring. Good luck, and let us know how things turn out.
randy, i got my CLB from COH too. i followed the instructions on interior removal on www.97vette.com.see CLB installation there. when i got to the actual install of the clb i followed the instructions from COH. then finished with the interior replacement.there was no wire stripping,k harness, jump wires or anything.no fuses pulled and no problems. if i can help PM me with a phone #. u will figure it out. good luck.

Actually, you should pull the fuses BEFORE you install the CLB... maybe you wrote the sequence wrong?? The key should be on (you should hear the bzzzzzt sound of the lock pin retracting) then pull the fuses to keep it retracted.

This is correct and by the way it is only fuse #25. See these detailed illustrated instructions: LS1HowTo Print it out on a color printer and take to the car.
Frist of all thanks for all the replys and suggestions. When I installed the COH solution I followed the LS1Howto.com directions other than I used the COH lighter solution to unlock the column. I retried the LS1howto.com process again this morning with no success, also tried going back to the orginal without the COH solution. Both times when I put the fuse back in, turned the key off and pulled it out as soon as I put the key back in I got the error again. I also tried removing the #25 fuse for 10 minutes each time with no luck. The column remains unlocked just the gas pump cut off kicks in. I did notice each time I reinstalled the fuse and put the key back in I heard two clicks coming from around the PCM. Not sure what else to do other than take it to the dealer which I hate to do, sure they will say it is the PCM and want 900+.
Talk to CoH, they may be able to help if the above does resolve it. I'm not too sure the dealer can help you with a third party module in there. And they will just want to do what they were instructed to do which will cost you.
This sucks you're having so many problems. It should have been pretty much straight forward as the instructions say. Try clearing the codes while the key is on and before putting the fuse back in. So a minor deviation to the steps.
What would happen if you just installed the column lock bypass from Corvettes of Houston without following any of the instructions? All I did was plugin the box and my car has the battery out at the moment, havent driven it in a month as Im doing upgrades, Wondering what surprise I'll get when I go to drive it. Maybe the service column lock issue until I pull the fuses correctly?

Well now that your brought the battery up, just to reinforce this low battery voltage on the PCM bus is the root cause of the issue. So ensure you battery is in good shape.
The issue you should be concerned with is that the pin retracted on the actuator. That is the brunt of the procedure setting it up to retract the pin then remove its power source. You may have a series of issues if it had set a code before hand. If not you just might be ok. Again the pin retraction is the major focus of the steps.

You may be in the same situation I was. I tried all the DIY fixes with no luck. At the dealer I found out that the BCM and BCM relay were both on the fritz. Fortunately I had purchased a 0 deductible service contract that covered these items. For what it is worth, my bill for both items with labor and towing came out to $634.24.
