Vararam vs. Halltech TRAP Intake
Hey guys. Back in 2004 I bought a Halltech TRAP intake system for my car. It has been on the car ever since. Great intake system. I had the chance to get a new style Vararam at the time, but people were making higher hp with the TRAP.
Anyways today what is the verdict on these two intakes? Which is the best?

The Venom isn't the same. The TRAP includes another part and a larger filter. It goes under the frame area and to right behind the front plate.
I think I may give the new Vararam a shot and see if I like it.
Anyone else have input on this?

When I spoke to Jim (Hall) he told me the "trap" was not necessary on the C5 Z06???

I don't see why he would say it wasn't necessary. That doesn't even really make since to me. He must have been talking about something else. This intake instead of being up in the hot part of the engine back goes down in front of the air vents. Halltech even made a license plate thing so air could hit the filter directly.

They made the whole kit in Black, Red, and in real Carbon Fiber.

I just put it up on the For Sell section a bit ago to see if I can get any interest. Another sold for around the same amount so I think I am right on the money price wise. I think I want to try out the Vararam, plus I have some new wheels coming already. Too many hobbies and not enough play cash
