So how many will show at the Eureka Springs car show on October 3rd-5th? I know we have at least three vettes headin down. Anybody know how many vettes are usually there?
Been going every year for the last 5. They're up to around 600-700 cars which register. Could easily be couple hundred more around town.
Fantastic place to drive. They always do a good job of laying out the drives.
Best of all, this year a competing motorcycle rally is a different week (and is for the next couple of years). It was getting out of hand and candily, somewhat ruining the experience. The motorcycle rally is in a town a little over an hour away, but hundreds of mc were taking over some of the better watering holes, and cruising slow. Really messing up the opportunity for more "spirited" drives.
Only warning I have is for the slammed rides. The town is very hilly and the old part of town is full of dips, potholes etc. Lots of scraping if you have it down on the bolts.
I have gone to Eureka the last 5 years. The last couple they had around 850 registered and at least two hundred more show up check it out. All of the motels are filled up with vettes, everywhere you look is vettes 24/7 for 3 days and Eureka is a small town so it feels like its 75% vette everwere you go. It’s really awesome.
You better look for a room now if you have not pre-booked one. If you haven’t pre-booked - don’t worry. I have booked rooms in the past on thurs or fri - somebody always cancels out last minute, you just might have to make a few phone calls.
The Bike Blue and BBQ in Fayetteville AR (sept 24 – 27) has become HUGE. They said last year it had 250.000 visitors (not everyone rides a bike – website shows 1000+). I think it was the 2nd largest biker event last year (Larger that Dayton - but not Sturgis?). My brother is a big biker so I hear all about it. Do a search for it - we have the Almond Brothers Band (last year was ZZ TOP). It’s a big big deal!! And its only 15 miles from my house!
And they are right - it will loosen up the motels in the area plus you won’t feel like you missing out on something since you can go to it the weekend before the Corvette weekend. But it will be harder to find a room for the BBBQ weekend!
I was hoping to go, this would be my first year. Problem is my wife has her 20th reunion in Fredonia, so I may have to go to that. If not I would like to be able to meet some of you guys from the area if we have a chance.
Believe me I know, I grew up there. I'm hoping to get out of it, we'll see. Hopefully the weather won't be a piece of crap like on the weekend like it has been the last couple.
