Yep -If I had it to do over again I'd choose another brand - might still do that - this is horse s--t!
This was my thought exactly. I bought one a couple of years ago new. When I took it out of the box I was saddened by the poor finishing and manufacture.
I did a trial fit and decided that it was just not a good choice. So I returned it for a refund and went with a Vortex Rammer. Fit the first time, and the filter never leaks. No jerry rigging or silicone required.
It is possible that its just not going to fit. There is a variance in C5s and I bet there is more of a variance in the constructuion of the Vararam units.
Mine is a tight fit- with the top of the Vararam air box touching the frame rail and the bottom of the box resting on the shroud above the radiator.
It did eventually fit and my car never had so much mid range and top end power. I dont know of any other CAI that delivers the increase of the VR.
[QUOTE=ter;1567103732]The solvent from the drying silicon is said to trash oxygen sensors. Make sure it is cured before starting the car.

Really? The O2 sensors are in the exhaust system, what type of "solvent" (is in silicon sealer anyway?) could survive a trip through the combustion chamber and still make it through the converters to degrade the sensors?

Next week the VR is coming back off - going back in the box and I'll be looking for another brand of cold air intake. Y'all have been great with your kind suggestions but back to the Johnny Cochran quote from the OJ days "if the glove doesn't fit you must acquit" - well if the VR doesn't fit - you must quit. I have!
