Default Engine cleaning..

And yes, did many-a-search, but no concensus. Anyone use Greased Lighting?

I know hose washing is not good for the electronics, but can you just disconnect the battery and not reconnect it until the engine is dry?

I was going to warm the engine(not hot), disconnect the battery, spray Greased Lighting, hose off, then reconnect battery after sitting overnight.

Sound okay?

I clean mine before car shows and I've entered a lot of them. I use Simple Green with no harm and don't disconect anything.
I have found that if all the conections are on tight and you do not use a power washer you should be just fine and that's experience talking, not theory. The only "electrical" I do clean out are the grounding points and I just reconnect them and give them a quick shot with WD40.

Tip: I also use tire shine on the hoses.
