I thinking about changing out the exhaust on my `01 vert. Money being the way it is right now and the wifey being so tight she squeeks when she walks, I've been looking at the Nxt Step Performance setup. Anybody out there running this setup? Do you like them? Drone? Loud?
I think they're a Chinese copy of Granatellis, about $250.00 less. I'm kinda wondering about the quality and fitment too. Sad I have to be such a cheap azz
Thanks for the input!

Yes, I have them. They are pretty much Granatellis, without their name. They sound great and have been holding up well.

They are exactly the same as Granatelli, they get them from the same distributor and they are great, 1/2 the cost and they are fairly easy to install. They fit great, the only thing that everybody complains about are the band clamps that come with it. The hard part is trying to get the stock exhaust off in one piece , so I just cut them off with a sawsall took 10 min. I've got a 6 speed vert so the drone is minimal, right around 1500 rpm is where you can hear a very slight drone. I don't know what it would sound like on a A4. I don't think your cheap........just thrifty and smart to try to save a couple of dollars.

Wow, I'm impressed w/ this setup. I thought it would sound kinda , well Honganeese. That exhaust sounded real good. Any thing to make these c/5's sound off is great. There is no way a Stang should sound better then the #1 American sports car!

I've been interested in this system for some time now...Do they carry any kind of warrenty? Being Chinese made I wonder how any problems with the system would be handeled.

Not entirely sure but I think Granatelli uses a different muffler than the Chinese setup. I think it's American made?????
Don't know what the sound difference would be, if any, but Id sure like to find out. I do like the sound of the GMS setup. SWEET! I'm not hard to please, I'm just looking for the best of all worlds, sound, price and quality.

NXT and Granatelli's both come from the same place....China. When I first got these, I asked a forum member what their "Granatelli" exhaust box looked like. We traded pics, it was exactly the same.

Buy them Pete, they are the same and you'll love the sound!

I got mine from Granatelli because Joe Granatelli told me over the phone that they manufactured their systems that was a lie. The box had CHINA stamped on it and something written in chinese , I think. I found out much later that NXT is the distributor and Joe buys his product from them so I don't know who is telling the truth. But I know I like the system.

Are they loud? Yes, but not while cruising.

Do they drone? No

How do they fit? Good, just take your time when aligning tips. Start aligning the mufflers first, then do the tips.

Sound clip with stock manifolds:

With headers:

I can assure you they sound even better in person. The headers made them much deeper at idle and cruise and got rid of every last bit of the motorboat sound. At WOT with the headers it sounds like the world is coming to an end. Even with no cats they still don't drone.
