I saw a lot of threads in the search about belts being squeaky, but I think mine sounds a lot like it's coming from the alternator (using the long screwdrive method ). It doesn't seem to happen until the engine has warmed up some, and only under 1k rpm. So basically it sounds like junk at a stop light or parking lot . Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue? I took the belt off and the squeak stopped, and I tried giving the tension a little more/less force on the belt but that didn't change/stop the noise any, so I'm guessing its some kind of bearing.
I have to figure out what's going on with my car too. it only seems to squeek before it's completely warmed up, then the noise goes away. Sometimes it doesn't even do it when it's cold. I've got no idea what it is.
