Default What are they worth?

Well, i've been trying to sell my car for almost a yr now, no luck. is no one interested in a 98' C5 auto roadster that makes 535rwhp and 567rwtq, ALL MOTOR? set up for road racing or drag racing (runs 10s), or just a cruise OR even a daily driver? i mean, its done and mint! and asking under $40K with having spent well over 60K in mods!

Anyways, so.. thinking of parting it out this winter.
My mechanic wants the body/shell. whats it worth minus the motor, trans, rear, cage, all my fancy add ons.

whats the motor worth? 427 C5R block, heavily built, all the best parts, built by DRM. has 6K miles on it.

The trans is a built, Level 5 trans, again, all the best parts, built by Chuck at FLP. has only 2K miles on it.

The rear is a Getrag 3.73 gear, cryo treated shaft, again, best of the best. maybe 12K miles on it.

What are these three items worth? i know, its hard to say... anyone have any input?

Also, i would have C5R headlights, full suspension (QA1 shocks, Hotchkis sways), full carbon fiber engine bay covers, ACI lip...a bunch of stuff i could part out for a few grand...

anywho... thoughts, opinions are welcome!

Half the fun is putting the mods you want on yourself. You'll have better luck selling it by putting it back to stock and selling off the 60k in parts separately.

I learned it the hard way when I sold my C3. It was still only worth what a really good C3 was worth. I basically gave away the mods. I'll put my C5 back to stock before I sell it.........

ok, that what i am saying. i would be ridding of all the performance parts of the car, and selling the shell as stock car (minus motor, trans, diff) b/c my mechanic would want to buy it.

im asking for the value of the aftermarket items...

thanks!

Go to the C5 Part For Sale section and get an idea what certain parts are selling for. If you can't find an item, do a search and you'll find just about every part made for a C5 for sale at one time or another in that section.

Hey Aj,

The major reason you can't sell your car is the age and price. Your car is too old to be financed and so the buyer would have to pay cash or be in the lucky position of being able to take out a personal loan.

That being said, estimate to recover about 60 to 70 percent of your modded items in the for sale section depending on the item and wear.

Hope that helps ya some.

Used performance parts are worth about 50%-60% of the cost to buy it new.
