For those who have added wheel spacers, the questions is if I added 1/2 inch spacer to my c5 do you think I will need to add that much lenght to my wheel studs. I'am running z06 wheels. Thanks so much for any input.
The industry rule I am familiar with calls for thread engagement to be at least as much as the diameter of the stud. 1/2' is a thick spacer. I would definitely want studs 1/2" longer for safety.
1/2" is way too much of a spacer to run without buying longer studs. I run a 4mm spacer on my car which is very thin but I do plan on getting longer ARP studs just for peace of mind, even though I have plenty of thread on my stock studs.
Basically don't do it. You don't want a wheel coming off while driving.
If you need to go 1 inch and don't want to get involved witch new studs etc, This is made of aircraft Aluminum ,Bolts directly to the Hub ,It is Hub centric and Lug centric .I have them on my C for the C6 rears to clear inner Fender liner and for the tires to be just inside of the fenders. Check ot the write up at their web site Rigged-Up.com ,I beleive..

I have a 1/2 wheel spacer on my car...I had it made by the most reputable race shop around...You MUST get longer studs...The lugs will not fit with the standard lugs....

Where did you find 4mm spacers?
Ive got some rubbing on my CCW wheels from the rear spring "just touching" the wheel on hard compressions. Im thinking I could just move the wheel out a bit to avoid scraping th ewheel
When mounted in the stock position the wheel fits on the hub which supports the weight of the car and the wheel studs do nothing but hold the wheel on the hub. The problem with a half inch spacer is it will take the wheel center off the hub. That means all the weight of the car is carried through the wheel studs which were not designed to do that function. As the wheel rotates the studs will flex up and down. If you get a spacer that is hub centric and provides a hub center for the wheel to rest on then you will not be applying too much force to the wheel studs. CCW can provide spacers so talk to John about spacers.
