So, I ordered the clear front corner lights for the coupe. Now, I need to get the right bulbs so they look right. Who is running what type of bulbs, brands and sizes. I don't want to go the LED route, unless I can get away without the Hyper-flash.
Thanks for the help!
you can use the oe 4157 or pick up a pair of the sylvania 3157s that have a bluish tint when off. I have the led switchbacks with the led flasher harness that's easy to install
I went with the "chrome" amber bulbs. They have a silvery coating on the glass so they can't be seen but they light up amber. Any of the bulb sources on the web have them.
I just recently added front clear corner lens and installed LED lights to my 98 vette. Like 10U 99, I have the switchback lights and used Load Equalizers to control Hyper Flash.

I just did the black/clear corner swap and have some experience to share. My goal was to get rid of the gross egg yolk look, so all amber/yellow bulbs had to go. I still wanted the bulbs to illuminate amber, so I had to research a bit.
194 bulb is the small parking light
4157 bulb (same as 3157) is the larger one that is both a parking light and turn signal
I picked up a 194 clear LED (amber) at the local pars store. Since this bulb doesn't flash, there shouldn't be any hyperflash issues.
As for the 4157, using an LED bulb will give you hyperflash, so I decided to use a standard filament type. Sylvania has a Silverstar bulb, which has a purple/blue/pink/chrome coating on it. This is not the correct route to take since the lense will have a blue or purple tint to it. It doesn't look as bad as orange, but it's still distracting. I settled on a 100% chrome/silver covered bulb that I found on ebay.
i hate the day time running lights on our c5's. if i were to put a 3156 single filament bulb in would it only work when the blinker is turned on or will the running light always be on and the blinker will not work? does anyone know??? thanks.

● Simply remove fuse #2 under the hood and your DRLs will be out permanently. Only thing affected is that when you unlock at night using the key fob your front turn signal lights and back up lights will not flash. Your front turn signals will operate normally, however.

Found this in the sticky thread... hope it helps.

also forgot to ask will the back up lights also work normally in reverse with the blinkers like you mentioned with the fuse pulled?
I have or should I say "had" the "chrome" bulbs they lasted only 6 months ,from what I have read on the fourm the 3157 bulbs will not hold up on the vetts the hard ride burns them out fast , Just ordered switchbacks LED this weekend! Hope they will hold up better !
