I run a set of QTP cutouts along with Ti mufflers from the Z06. The combo is hard to beat. Mild when I need it, such as driving by "The Man" or arriving home in the quiet sub-d late at night, and wild when I want it, which is quite a bit of the time. I can open/close them at will as the mood strikes. Leaks are only there if you don't maintain them like any other system. I've had mine for several years and they don't leak.
The car sounds absolutely bad-azz with them open. I had a set of Borla Stingers before the cutouts that I had to get rid of due to extreme drone with my heads/cam/headers setup. There is nowhere near the drone with cutouts - it's amuch meaner and cleaner sound and a blast to use. Anytime someone tries to mess with me, like when a ricer is trying to bait me, I just open 'em up and it's like ricer repellent.
The switch is in the ashtray.
I can vouch for Ed's exhaust set-up. I had the opportunity to see, hear and experience his awesome exhaust configuration last year. It's everything he says it is and I wouldn't mind going with the exact same set-up on my C5 because it gives you the best of both worlds - mild to wild and anything in between. Plus it's just plain cool!
Thanks, Paul. What always is a nice contrast is the wife's A4 with AR headers and NXT catback. Sounds good and aggressive. I get used to it because we drive her's much more often. When I pull mine off the lift, it always surprises me how much louder and more aggressive it sounds.
Oh, and, your's sounds great as well. Could hear it quite a ways off when you last left here.
