Default oil sender unit replacement

I have been looking at the threads on this. Can you just remove the 10 bolts and slide the manifold back? Or do you need to remove the injectors, air intake, etc.? I have an '02. Also, I did not see anyone just saying the heck with it and not replacing the sensor at all. Obviously you would not be able to see your pressure, but otherwise will it hurt anything?

This mickey mouse stuff bugs me....makes me think of getting a C6, but they probably have their own issues. Seems like every weekend it's another problem. Fun to drive, bitch to keep up, lol!! grrrrrrrr

PS - does anyone have the NAPA part number for the oil sender? NAPA has a pressure unit (doubles as a fuel pressure unit) part number OP6196, but I'm not sure that is correct.

See post #62 in the above thread for photos on how to cut the cowl for easy access. You MUST patch the hole when done to keep engine fumes out of the cabin air intake.

P.S. Not the way I would do it but some do.
