for the past few months, i've noticed my car has a high pitched squeak coming fromt he cabin area that only occurs as the result of vibrations at certain highway speeds. I thought it was in the dash area, but recently found that the noise stops if i push on the front part of the targa roof.
I'm almost certain the squeak is in the targa top somewhere; probably a piece of hardware too loose or something. Has anyone dis-assembled their targa?
It may be a squeak from the targa rubbing against the car, of course. Before you start taking things apart (well, knowing you you're going to take the targa apart and put some LEDS in it anyway... ) I'd suggest just applying a thin coat of dielectric grease to all the weatherstripping. It will help soften and maintain the rubber. That would certainly be my first step.

Honestly, I can't remember if mine was squeaking or not. But about 4 years ago SOMETHING prompted me to try the stuff, and since then I've been putting on the dialectic grease once a year. The weatherstripping is nice and pliable and there's no noise from the top.
The stuff is dirt cheap and a little goes a loooooong way. Hope this helps.
