I am looking into getting a short throw shifter for my '03 Annie and was wondering what everyone's opinion was on which shifter to buy. I was looking at the B&M Short Throw but also heard that using a stock C6 Z06 shifter is another good option to consider.
Also, does anyone have any pictures of THIER short throw that they might be able to post? I would also like to see what they look like installed. Any problem with a lot of extra shift boot leather? And what about shift *****...? Having a 50th Anny with the shale interior, I would like to keep the shift **** the same shale color to match the rest on the interior and I think a black **** would stand out way too much in the already light interior. Any options there? Maybe use my stock ****, if possible...?
I use my STOCK shift **** on my B&M Short throw. I like it. I am going to do the Anti-venom modd this week to see if I can get a bit of the notchiness out of it though. I like the way it reals but I want it to be a bit easier.. (not much though)..
I just installed the MGW shifter this past weekend and is it nice. The short throw is sooooo sweeet. MGW provide a nice CD with actual pictures of the install. Took me about 2 hours to do the entire install. Hardest part was getting the wedge out of the stock shift ****. I wanted the original look and reused the stock shift ****, so I needed to run to get some new loctite to secure the stock shift **** as the wedge isn't used (good thing).
I have the B&M ripper, Delrin **** and the Anti-Venom mod. It's short and precise. a little extra effort going, especially getting into 6th. I also have some rattling at high RPM's.
I have a C6 Z06 shifter, tested B&M (not for me), tested MGW holy moly this is bad boy (its on my list will be buying next yr). C6 Z06 is just perfect for a street/Hwy but its a not a firm feeling to it, where as MGW has very firm feeling.
