Hey guys/gals! I am just about to install OEM C6 polished aluminum 5 spokes on my C5 and was wondering what to expect. These wheels are the 19" rear and 18" front, and I know I need spacers for the rear, and fortunately my uncle has an extra set so that is covered. My main question is, what the car will look like if I lower an stock bolts without cutting bushings. My understanding is that the lowering bolt kit for purchase is to lower the rear, but after looking at pictures on the forum I notice that the front looks higher than the rear when people lower on stock bolts. This would lead me to believe that the bolt kit should be for the front. I'm confused.
What I'm after is a relatively even tire to fender gap front to rear, and if anything, I want the front to look slightly lower. Will lowering on stock bolts get me this? Thanks in advance!

I don't know about the stock height, I installed the longer bolts in the back and cut the bushings on the front bolts. But from what I could tell with just my setup, if you lower on stock bolts I think you will get the look your after. Won't cost you anything to try it anyway. If you want the back lower, then just go buy some longer bolts and go from there. Just need to experiment and see what you like. Good luck. I like lowered C5's.
Forgot to ad something. If you want the front to get lower then the back, you will probably need to cut the bushings on the front bolts or remove the bolts completely.

Personally, I would not take them out. If you do, then you have no way of adjusting them if you need to later. But if you cut the bushings off of them, you will need to get a cover that will fit over the head of the bolt. The part that will be rubbing on the spring. They do sell covers for them and I have them on mine, but I can't remember where I bought them from. Here's a link for what they look like.
