I have seen "custom" painted console parts listed on ebay and other places. My question is how hard can this be to do yourself? Has anyone done this? If so is it a pain to sand the pieces smooth? I am thinking of doing this with mine, say in torch red to throw a splash of color into my all black interior. Also wondering, do the pieces go back in easily? Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated!

You can look on the Vette Essentials web site and get a good idea of how the pieces are removed and re-installed. Not really hard at all.
As for the painting, depends on your abilities. I have some Word files covering painting interior pieces from posts made here on the forum. Would be glad to share them with you if you PM me your e-mail address.
I never did any of the work myself, but those that did liked the results according to the posts.
