I swear I have the worst luck with shops. I have never had anything done to my car where there wasn't some kind of screwup that I had to go back and fix myself. The only exception to this is Stephen @ EnglandGreen, but he's in Texas. Stephen provided customer service like I was part of his family.
Anyways, I had my car aligned at what's supposed to be a GREAT alignment shop down here in south Florida. They did the job, now my leaf spring put a nice big gouge on the inside of one of my rear CCWs.
I called and explained what they did, and asked why this wasn't detected on the test drive. All I got back was "the bottom line is it's not my fault and if you want me to fix it I'm going to have to charge you".
So what do you guys think? Should I do a charge back on my CC?
I'm really fed up with shops.....now that Stephen is gone there's no one around here I can trust.
The leafspring put a mark on your wheel? What do you think they did to cause this? Not defending the shop I am just trying to understand what they could have done.
Do you have some narly offset that is putting the wheels in deeper? Did they give you the before/after alignment specs that you could post?

No they didn't give me the "before" specs. I might have the "after" sheet at home but I can't remember if they gave me one or not (I'm at work right now).
They put too much positive camber in the rear passenger side, which brought the bottom of the wheel INWARD, and it is now hitting the leaf spring. My car is only lowered within the factory adjustments (no longer bolts in the rear).
That's pretty clear then I would say. As long as you have the sheet and they aligned it way out of specs then I think it's pretty clear cut.
The 2001 Z06 I believe calls for around -.07 in the front and I think around -.04 in the rear so if you are coming out with a positive camber in the rear you are probably not even within tolerance. I am shocked that they did not even go over the before and after numbers with you and show you how they got it into specs.
When I lowered mine this past summer, I took it in for an allignment. I had to do some research w/ some members here in my area as to who they recommended. Once there, I let them know that I don't race mine in the twisties and that I didn't want an aggressive allignment. I wanted to make sure that we were on the same page and that my CCW (chromed) wheels were not going to get marked on the process. I also wante'd to know if the car was going to have to be lifted in the air durring any of this process( Which it didn't) I also let them know I wanted the before and after specs., of the allignment. Only time I was nervous was when he was done and took it for a short inspection drive. Before I left I had my manual w/ me and have him show me what nuts or bolts that he loosened or tightened. I like to keep an eye on things, especially when it comes to the suspension . Good luck.
Wow! A lot of hacks out there for sure! Stop the CC payment and sue for damages in small claims and contact the local better business bureau or inform the owner of the shop of your intent and see what he'll do for you to fix the problem. Was it a Goodyear or Firestone Dealer?
It wasn't a chain tire place. It's a "specialty" shop that works on a lot of road race cars and has a great reputation, that's what I don't get. I spoke with the actual tech on the phone and he said he would fix it no problem. When I called today to confirm the appointment with the owner of the shop, that's when I got the runaround. Whatever, screw 'em.

Sounds like you took the first step. Good luck getting this resolved.
That's no way to run a bussiness. You gave them a chance to rectify the problem & thet didn't. Now the red tape begins. What a hassel. I feel for you. Good luck.
