PCV Valve Removeable?

PCV Valve Removeable?
I'm trying to remove the PCV valve (rear rocker cover, driver's side) Does it remove from the rubber hose, or is is a semi-solid piece across the rear of the intake (and just covered with soft rubber for protection?) It's right smack over the oil sender I'm replacing.

The pcv valve is at the front on a connection tube to the intake. Its got a large wire attaching it to the block. Easy to get to and replace, unless whatever year Corvette you have, it was changed?
