Default for the people with different wheels

I am going to buy a set of ccw sp500's or 505's. Should i go with 18's and 19's or should I go with 19's all the way around. I was leaning towards 19x10 and 19x11s and I was going to lower the car on the stock bolts. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also any suggestions for tires for a non daily driver, but i dont want to have to replace them every 6 months either?

sarasota hna? well stop by rev extreme they have a few vetts there with ccw's ( mine is there now) and you can take a look. I suggest the sp500's as my first choic then the 505's. (I have the 505's Couldn't pass up the deal i got). BFG kdw2 are great tires that seam to stick and last long. I have the 19x10 and 19x11 pair. I love the way they look and i get so many compliments. good luck hope this helps.

Is your car the one that they just chabged out the seats? If so they look great.

Also I have seen many sets of the 505's and I like them, but my first choice is the sp500s but i have never seen them in person. Do they look just as good in person?

I prefer staggered sizes, just for the cosmetics. The larger diameter front wheels will tramline more, too, but alot of that depends on tire choice, and alignment.

I have 505As 18/19 and really like the staggered look. On a few I've seen with 19/19 the angles on the car give a strange optical illusion that the fronts are actually larger.

EDIT: I bought the Bridgestone Potenza RE050A package from CCW and am very satisfied. They are great in the wet and dry. My only problem with them is when the temperature is below about 50 degrees. They aren't slick as in dangerous, but they definitely lack traction unless they are warmed up.

Hi rgcabell -

I would go for the 18/19 sizing for a couple of reasons-

First is the tire price and size availability -

Second is the cosmetics.

I have had a set of 19/19 505a's for about 5 years now. When I bought them, CCW did not offer the 18" size.

As far as the cosmetics - and this is just personal opinion, the 19" on the front of our car sometimes looks larger than the rears to me, and this is probably illusion caused by the wider lip on the rears.

At any rate - that is my input for you.

You will be very happy with CCW - a great company to deal with with a product of outstanding quality.

best regards -

The other option is to go 18's all around...

The real world problem with 19's is that your choice of rubber gets real limited.and the cost is greater

18/19s are a great combo with decent tire options. It looks the best IMO.

That is exactly my take on matched front/rear diameters (whether it's a 18/18 or 19/19). If you look at the C5 profile - the the rear is bigger than the front (top-to-bottom). The idea with the larger rear wheel is it looks "in scale" with the rear giving the front-to-rear proportions more balance.

One of the vendors posted a 20/20 on a C6Z06 - same issue, the front wheel looked larger and out of balance with the rear wheel.

It's the reason the original designers did it, so I stuck with it. Of course for more utility type setups like track wheels, I'd go with whatever cleared my brake setup and offered the most tire choices (at the best cost).
