Default OEM z06 wheel offset question.

Does anyone know if the rear 18x10.5 OEM z06 wheel mounts to the front and is flush with the fender or does it stick out?

I'm going to try and find some 18x12 rear's and mount my current rears (OEM 18x10.5) to the front so I can run 18's all around. Just want to make sure they don't stick out goofy or something.

Also, when powder coating a wheel that is chrome, do they coat over the chrome or somehow remove the chrome? Or is starting with a chrome wheel just not possible?

Thanks for the info!
Jon

Jon I did that almost 5 years ago. The rear of OEM Z06 fits the front but it will stick out about an inch or so. You can run 295 upto 315 tire in the front but I only did/seen that for HPDEs and AutoXs. If the car is lowered the inner barrel of your wheel will rub against a lot of things though. Why do you want to run 18X10.5 in the front? It's really not needed.

Powdercoating over chrome is really not a good idea. A good powdercoater should totally strip the wheel before the process.

I don't really want to run a 10.5" wheel up front, I was just seeing if it would work and if it didn't look stupid I would do it. Keep me from having to buy some 18's, but I guess I can just keep the 17's up front and 18x12 for the rear. I was trying to run 18's all around.

I'm trying to find someone local that wants to swap wheels. Chrome for powder coated.

Deblinging the whip FTW!

Jon, I have some 18x12's on the way for my C5Z. I'll be putting 18x9.5's in the front for 18's all the way around. Black satin powdercoat all four wheels

I'm just going to have to sac up and buy some nice wheels. I'm tired of my car looking like every other C5 in Houston!

I'll just wait till the market gets better. If that ever happens.

No not yet Bro....my car is having some ignition/electrical issues worked out now, it's like chasing a ghost

I also purchased a set of C5Z black with machined lip 18x9.5 fronts/18x10.5 rears from Bob @ House of Wheels. I will use these now with my Toyo R888 race scrubs 275/35/18 front...305/35/18 rear setup. I will use the 18x12 C5Z rear wheels along with some yet to be purchased 18x10.5 front wheels on a 295/30/18 front...335/30/18 rear setup if that combo looks favorable for track use (roadcourse). I'll keep you posted of future developments
