Hello all. I own a 2001 QS Z with mod red interior. Pretty much stock (for now Pictures will follow. Sorry if this is too long.
I have been lurking here DAILY since I got my Z in 2004 as a 'company car' used with 25K miles on it. Most guys at my job picked out SUVs and such and didn't know we could get used cars too. So, I thought I'd try out a Z. What a bargain! You should have seen the faces of the guys at the office when they discovered what car I selected!
I knew during the 30 month company lease that I wanted to buy it once the lease expired. I learned a ton of info. from all of you on what to expect regarding small issues that could pop up. For example, I didn't panic when the DIC said 'active handling warming up' or 'pull key wait 10 secs' since I read all about it here. While on the job's 'dime' I had the stereo replaced, a/c replaced, rocking seat fixed, repainted car, new tires all around and had the leaky butt issue but had it fixed before it actually was dripping on garage floor (I knew to check it out when it was on a lift for oil change), and had the CLB too. So, when I bought it for 10K cash in 2007 (had 75K miles on it by then) it seemed practically new to me. LOVE the car! This Forum is fantastic. I really get a laugh out of some of the threads. Looking forward to actually chiming in now and then. See you all later!
I couldn't believe I got the car that way. I thought for sure someone would say "no" but I just kept a low profile (atleast until someone at work saw the car...). Noob question for you: Your profile says you joined the Forum in 2008 yet you're a 'senior member'. I take it that means you have written a lot of threads or replied a lot, correct? I understand as you reply your 'rank' goes up. thanks....

Congrats on the vette and welcome. Yes your correct on the posts. I believe at 50 the junior drops off and at 100 you become a senior member. Post up some pics soon, some of these guys get antsy if you don't.
I have some pictures of my Vette but and will post shortly. I just can't find the darn things. I need my kids to help me with the 'heavy lifting' when it comes to computers. I'm an idiot with them.....
I couldn't believe it myself. All the guys at work kept asking how I got it, didn't know we could lease used cars etc. I did the same thing with my prior company car which was used Ford Exploder. Wife drives it. Cheap price too.
