I am looking into purchasing a set of C6 Z06 style wheel for my C5. Has anyone heard of OE Concepts? I want something that isnt going to hurt the performance of he car due to bad sizing or weight of the wheels, and something of excellent quality.
I've been looking at these wheels for awhile. I'm not sure what
to think yet. I live about 80 miles from Sarasota and was down there for a few days off, got back today. I tried to find them while there. Did not find it on the address given on one web site and I did not have there number with me. I found the address, but not there.
Did not go down there for that so I just blew it off. When I get ready I will call them and find out where they are and go in person. I like the wheels and the price. Just the cust. service is questionable.
You should check out the Corvette Garage...I think the PM is nate@corvettegarage. He's a vendor that's holding a contest for free wheels here on the forum. If you're going to buy wheels try to check his store first...
OE Concepts is a good aftermarket wheel company. You might also want to check out Factory Reproductions too.
I've had Factory Reproductions and OEC.
The Factory Reproductions were on my Vert when I bought it. They looked good and balanced OK. They had the socket head screws and I was not nuts about cleaning those. They looked great, but cleaning sure took some time.
I bought OEC Z06 C5 style wheels without the socket heads to replace them. I returned two of them because I was not pleased with the quality of the surface behind the spokes. The replacements were very good, so I did get a really good set of four after some talking with the retailer and paying for some additional shipping costs. Had them since April 2007 and no problems of any kind.
I have my C5 for sale and the photos of the OEC wheels can be seen in that thread.
when i was looking for a set of wheels, oe's carried a 1 year warranty on the chrome, and the barrels had really rough looking chrome. the fact repro's had a 3 year on the chrome and the barrels were really good. i went with the repro's. this was about 4 years ago and the wheels still look new, no problems what so ever.
Another thought - if you are patient, you may find a set on here for a pretty good price. I sold a set in perfect condition for a lot less than retail. Try the parts wanted/for sale to see what is available.
where i got my black c6 z06 rims. one arrived with minor damage on the lip of the rim. had a new one shipped out and didnt have to pay to ship the other one back... good experience overall
