Default difference between z06 shocks

I have a 98 convertible with the F45 suspension (active dampening, touring sport perf mode).. nearing 60k, they are starting to squeak some. So I was thinking of ditching them and putting on some Z06 shocks...

to my understanding 01-03 is the same, and 04 was revised??? is this right? what are the differences, benefits, etc? thanks

I think the 04 was tuned on the Nurburgring.

I've heard the ride is less harsh. I've never had a problem with a harsh ride on mine. It seems to soak up everything without incident.

I posted some more stuff in this thread:

Have a good one,

Grant

01s are the stiffest... (stay away from those)
02-03 are the same
04s are the best shock for a Z06 from what i am gathering.

What about the 08 C6Z06 shocks. How do those compair to the 04's or even the 02/03's?

I track my car and I made the switch earlier this year form the 02z's to the 04z's and I'm quit impressed. I wrote a bout it on here a while ago, but I can't find it. Get the 04's, cheaper and imho better than the bilstiens.

Different car different suspension tuning. Haven't seen any usage comments from anybody who knows how to analyze differences between shocks. Without objective testing no way to know. Just because they fit doesn't mean they will work under all circumstances. Riding down the highway and around town are different than throwing the car into a turn at max speed.

The 01-04 Z06's do not have magnetic selective ride, if this is what you are refferring to. I would post this question up in C5 tech, or the roadracing section.
