My 2001 Z06 reads very high oil temperature. The reason i know its wrong is after the car has sat for a few days, as soon as i turn the key, its comes up 280F. Without even starting the car. Since it was obviously wrong i ignored it for a while, but i'm sick of the high oil temp coming up on the dic after about 10 minutes of driving. It almost always gets up to 330ish and stabilizes. Again, i know its wrong, and the water temp will read 195.
I replace the oil temp sensor and it reads the same.
I checked the sensor ground wire to the engine block and frame separately and it had no resistance, I deemed that to mean a good ground.
I checked the power wire to ground and it read 3.35volts but i was under the impression it should be ~5volts.
That said, I may be up against a faulty power supply in the ecm, but....my other temp sensors read correctly.
Anybody have to work through this before or have any suggestions?
