Hi, any pics with bezel/console painted in black? I'm looking at possibly doing this.
Thanks,

i did this, and i took forever sanding then priming then sainding priming....you have to coat the crap out of it. I finally got it to look smooth all around, then painted it gloss black. now with the black paint I see all the tiny imperfections i missed, and i will redo it all. I know its fun to do stuff yourself, but id almost just pay for a new one painted and sell yoru old one. AND the ebrake rubs paint off as well as the ashtray lid. I stuck to big of a drink in there and it rubbed paint off the edges....you realize how much abuse that thing gets

Bears Fan, what kind of paint did you use? I've done this to mine myself twice, both times with rattle cans just to see if I liked the look. Came out much better the second time. First time was with lacquer, second time was with acrylic enamel, which was way better. I agree it's a lot of work, but worth doing yourself if you have the patience for wet sanding.

Where would be a good place to order a painted one from? I tried to look up c5kid's website, but had trouble accessing it - not sure if it's down.
Thanks,

Tony,
Though you don't know me, many members on here do... just ask.
If you send me your bezel, I'll strip it, basecoat/clearcoat it in black for free.
No strings, no catches, it'll be perfect.
Feel free to verify I'm not some flake, I used to be on here all the time.... every once in a while, I'd donate some paint work to fellow members.
Let me know.

These look great, however I think in order to pull off this mod, you should also paint the floor console, the left dash section and the dash insert next to the key hole.
There is the new GM 08' carbon fiber option that also has a gloss black look to it with subtle texture. It's the same pattern they use in the 08/09 C6 models.
Good luck!
