Has anybody brought these lately, BMW dealer wanted $17.00 cheapest I could find them was $13.00 each. Hockey pucks look like the way to go now if these have gone up that much. $7.00 each to be able to pop them in and leave them would be worth it.

I bought a set over a year ago and paid $18.63 for a set of four - but I worked at a BMW dealership at the time. The BMW pucks can be left in also, but if you can't find them any cheaper, the hockey puck route may be the way to go.
When I first got my vette in '03 I thought pucks were the way to go. Then I read a lot about GM recommended lifting points & their discouraging lifting from one single point under the vehicle (i.e pucks). So, I built the correct wood braces for use at GM suggested lifting points. Then...... I bought frame rails w/embedded lifting tabs that cover the puck lifting points.
Lastly, I sold my pucks for about 40% less than I paid for them.
I've yet to use the frame rail lift tabs because the homemade wooden braces + jack do the trick everytime.
Oh yea, I also bought a pair of Rhino ramps which I drive up on before I lift the front of the car.
Bottomline: For the price, I suppose making them out of hockey pucks is a way to go, but for safety and peace of mind you aren't putting undue stress and flexing on any undercarriage part or frame I think making custom wooden lift braces is the overall best long term choice even considering cost.
