Okay so just doing some internet window browsing and been looking at all the wheels that I cannot afford, well refuse to save that much money for right now LOL. Such as i-forged, 360 Forged and so on. During my observations of the actual wheel it seems as though a wheel made out of three pieces would come apart or not be able to take as much abuse as a single piece. Maybe I am just ising the wrong common sense, but wheels that are bolted together just don't seem as structurely safe as a single piece unit. Hopefully some of you guys can explain that to me.
Over 5 years and 50k street miles on my 19/20" Iforgeds...no problems at all.
They have proven to be incredibly strong and resilient to potholes and other harsh road imperfections. And they are still as round as the day I got them.
The fastening methods of a 3pc wheel is not the weak link.
Any fully "broken" wheel you are likely to see will have broke at the thinnest point of the spokes, not at the perimeter. Cheaper wheels (one or multi-pc) often have a bad rep for becoming dented, out-of-round, etc and this is usually due to cheaper manufacturing methods and materials used.
Those $800/set wheels might LOOK just as good when new, but how strong are they, and will they last a pothole hit or a bad RR track crossing? I've played the cheap wheel game many times in the past, and know the story ending all too well.

A two piece or three piece wheel will typically be lighter and as strong or stronger than a properly made one piece wheel. Most of the reputable Chinese made replicas will be plenty strong enough under normal conditions, at a slight weight penalty over a better designed one piece wheel.
