WHEN, NOT IF - Steering Column Lock
Well, I put it off too long and the steering column on my 2000 MY 6speed locked last Saturday as I was trying to leave the golf course. It was towed to the dealer (Hubler Chevrolet on Indy's southside). I ordered the CLS from Thunder Racing on Monday and it was delivered on Wednesday morning. I took the CLS to the dealer who freed the steering lock, installed the CLS, and flashed the computer. Thanks to Thunder Racing & Hubler for their fast & professional service. My total out of pocket cost was just over $200, which included the part, air delivery, towing, & installation. I could have saved some money and inconvenience by having the CLS installed much earlier, as this column has stated so many times. If you haven't installed a CLS in your car, you are fooling yourself that it can't happen to you. Order one and get it installed NOW. - - By the way, the only good thing that came out of this was that I got to play a couple of more holes of golf while waiting for the tow truck. :-)

Just ordered mine from Corvettes of Houston on Tuesday night... I'll have Geoff at Next Level Performance here in Central Florida put it in for me. I figure I can do it, but if he breaks something, then he gets to pay for the broken part, LOL!

Good thread Greg. Maybe your tale will get someone else moving on getting a CLB before THEY have reason to post their own thread. Remember all you "it can't happen to me" folks out there, "For who the bell tolls? It tolls for ALL mankind". (at least all the C5 MN6/M12 and all A4 cars other than '03-'04)
