center console needs fixing

center console needs fixing

my center console on 04 is peeling. Anyone know what causes this, and what can be done. Paint or my preference is to replace it with the exact same part, where can i get one?

Ive seen some really nice after market ones that have a stripe of a color of your choice right down the side of it. Not cheap though. Like 400 bucks. Ill look for one,

This is a common problem,you can sand and repaint.

Was happening on my 99 I cured it by having it painted

The console on my '99 is peeling too. New one runs aprox $140. To those that painted theirs did you strip it completely? Just wondering how you got the peeling areas smooth.

If you are not looking to go custom or repainting it just buy a new one from GM brand new $148.00. I know I just bought 6 of them....LOL I will buy your old one from you if you get a new one just some food for thought....
