[Z06] blew my clutch

blew my clutch
Its been a bad day went to the drag strip . blew my clutch got towed home . now what ? does anyone know where i can take it and what kind of clutch i should have installed ? i have a lift but scared to try by myself im willing to pay or trade for help to get her running again . its a 02 z06 42000 mi stock . thanks Roy

I was thinking it might have been a half shaft. Drag radials are great, but can be unforgiving to a stock rear. If that is what you find that is broke, you might want to go w/ harden shaft & put a DTE strut brace on while your at it. Good luck.

Lots of clutch packages out there to choose from. If you plan to stay stock, I wouldn't worry to much about it. Any of them will do just fine. If you plan to add some HP, you might consider one of the "upgrades". Personally, I put a Callaway flywheel/clutch/adjustable master cylinder in my '02, and I haven't looked back. You might also want to put a clutch bleeder in while you're at it.

Its not a clutch .
i jacked it up put it in gear , cant spin drivers side wheel but the pass. side spins freely including the shaft and both rubber booths up to the rear end or diff. whats next ? does the diff. have to come out ?

There are several tiny clutch plates on both axles. This is what allows one wheel to rotate faster than another when you are making a tight turn.
When I was down at RPM they showed me that my backing plate for these clutch disks was cracked (it looks like a big flat washer). They also showed me some from other customers that were completely disintegrated.
Sounds like yours is busted and jamming up the works. They replaced mine with a stronger part that they make. It is it thicker and wider.
Yes, they removed the differential to fix that.
