DIC acting wierd

Hoping anyone can help out here.

My friend has 2001 vert which he recently purchased. Everything has been working fine until several days ago.

The first 2 characters and last 2 characters of the DIC display are showing odd characters (appear to be scrambled or as if it is attempting to show several types of characters at once.

Has anyone experienced this type of issue before and located the cause/fix?

I did have my battery checked and the voltage is within range, btw.

Not sure, But if I was a betting man I would say your display needs to be replaced.

Better check with a urologist!! Just kidding. Can you post a pic of the message? Also, you said it was a friends car but mentioned that you checked the battery in your car.

It's a friend's (co-worker) car. I did check the battery. I own an '03Z with no issues atm.

I'll see if we can get a pic and post.

Does anyone know if it's possible that just the display could be going bad and if it's possible to only order that part for replacement? I'm having difficulty looking up the part number for it.
