[Z06] does your ZO6 make whining noises

does your ZO6 make whining noises
Does anyone's ZO6 make a whining noise orvibration noise from the shifter area? I dont think it is my rear since it was rebuilt by ECS about 1500 miles ago and they installed3.73's. before that was rebuilt i had 4.10's and the car still made the same noises. the transmission was rebuilt byTTP about 3 years ago they put carbon fiber synchros in, i believe the whining started before that. Could my torque tube need to be rebuilt? or are there bushings on the shifter linkage that could be wearing out?it seems like it makes this noise in 5th and 6th gear between 65 and 75 mph when your holding a steady speed or you let off the gas i dont think it makes the noise under hard acceleration. There are also times where it doesnt make this noise. Does anyone have this problem or any idea what it could be?

do you have an aftermarket shifter?
i think mine started to have a very slight whine in 6th gear but only after I put the new shifter in. i cut a little to much of the insulator boot, and i think it is letting in some noise...
i took the shift boot off while driving and it makes all kinds of sounds
i couldnt believe how much sound just the shift boot cancels out.

That's what I have gathered from the various threads and posts.
When I first purchased it, every noise I heard freaked me out as I thought something was wrong.
I heard noise from the rear end, specifically from the rear drivers side. It was coming out from behind the tire.
Then there's the knock/rattle at low RPM's, etc.
But like I said, a lot of the folks on the forum have the same noises and they all say it's normal.
... Knock on word.

I hear a whinning noise when I hit the throttle hard, seems to be comimg from up front under the hood, possibly from that shinny thing ontop the engine over there in my avatar picture <~~~~~

by the sound of this forum, lots of cars do!
seriously, mine has gear wine when moderately on it, in most gears.
makes me realize that the this car is not any vette.
yes, I do have an aftermarket shifter, which does bring more noise into the cabin.
