c5 shipping blocks on shocks

i have a buddy who has a c5 50th anniversary car that was riding terrible!!! just had it up on the lift and checked to see why. found all four shocks had nylon blocks with a slot on one side and a yellow ribbon on them up under the shock boots at the top. removed them and the car rode great. tour and sport settings worked like they should. anyone ever heard of these blocks being left in after delivery ?

i had mine in for a long time untill my teeth got rattled over a very large bump brought to the dealer found shipping blocks still installed

thanks for all the replies. found out this info on this forum. such a shame that gm makes a great car, then the dealer network has such shumcks doing the pre-delivery.
