Finished installing Baer two peice C6 Z51 fronts and +2 rears this afternoon. Painted the calipers and installed some hawks HPS pads while I was in there. Got the pad and rotors bedded and it stops great. I'll have to get used to the bite though the ABS keeps kicking in on me
Mags and + rears do not mix, not with any inside wheel weights at least. 5 bucks worth of paint and 10 bucks worth of weight fixed it right up. The factory mag weights are $16 for 3 oz btw!
Put about a 50 miles on them so far and I'm still getting a good amount of squeeling (seasoned according to hawks directions). Going to drive it to work this week and see how she's sounding my the weekend. Most I've read say they will quite down after some miles.
I just recently upgraded rotors and brake pads too and I'm very happy that I did. It's been a couple months and my Hawks HPS are still making noise. I've been told to expect that with them.
BAER brakes is very specific about the Break IN on their ROTORS...
They Included Several STOP / Attention Pages and Instuctions for installing their Eradispeed Rotors..
For the First 400 - 500 Miles you should not do ANY real aggressive Stopping.. (NO more than 50% pedal Effort) This is called SEASONING your rotors.. You are SLOWLY getting the Metal of the Rotors up to Temperature, This Removes Impurities in the Metal. (Oils from manufacturing, Carbon..etc.) This ALSO Prevents Warping of Rotors, Warping is usually caused by heating up the Rotors too quickly when first installed. Seasoning is complete after 400-500 miles of normal Street driving.
Bedding of the Pads is done after the Rotors have been seasoned.. This is done by performing a series of Aggressives Stops from 60mph - 70mph. The First Stop is performed using 40% Pedal Effort.. After Each Aggressive stop you need to let the Rotors Cool for a minute or Two by driving the CAR without using the Brakes.. Your next Aggressive Stop should by done by applying 10% more pedal Effort than the Last stop. Eventually you'll End up doing a Series of PANIC / Emergency Stops.. JUST short of locking up your brakes.. After you last Stops using 90-100% Pedal effort your Brakes need to COOL. You should PARK your Car overnight to let your Rotors reach Ambient Temp. Then your Brakes will be ready for some serious use..

Great post! My corrected statement is I bedded the pads per the Hawk instructions . The rotors had about 3k on them so they should be seasoned (pads were new). Driving it again today the squeel was pretty much gone
