I have an 01 with 50K milage.Never tracked, but i do hit it hard once in a while..the Z06 is a great -solid car..i`m starting to hear a noise as the clutch is engaging as my foot is releasing. Its not all the time either.once in gear it runs fine.a noise maybe a soft vibration....dealer said 2000.00 just to open it up and look around......maybe while its running good enough to get bye ,time to trade-up...dealers are doing summersalts to ink a deal these days...any thoughts would be really apperciated....thanks neighbors! (i`ve done the Rangers clutch- oil cleaning..clear as can be)
Clutch test method I use, get into 4th gear, slow to 25-30mph, quickly press the go pedal, if the rpms increase faster than the mph, you're on your last legs with that clutch. forget the new car, the C5Z06 body style will never be reapeated/duplicated. 2k just to look around? For 2500.00 +-, you can an aftermarket clutch installed that can handle 600 rwhp.
THANKS GEORGEZNJ,I`ll give her the test tomorrow and will let you know, you are right about the fixed roof, best looking vette ever. There`s a used 06-zo6 at my stupid dealers lot,HOPEFULLY someone will buy it soon!
My local dealer quoted me 7.5 hrs for labor, told him I was going to bring my own parts. You might want to put a clutch bleeder in there while you're at it. I am thinking of upgrading the clutch, just in case I do decide to change out my motor at some point, I have 85K miles on my car now.
Saw a few other posts on here quoting up to 2K for a clutch install, go to another shop.

If you are changing the clutch the remote bleeder is a must. Consider the LS7 clutch. If you don't drag the car or plan on getting over 500hp this is a good clutch for your car. I run one in my car plus I run HPDE events with the LS7.

Not doubting you at all, but I ran an ls7 clutch with my new motor(forged 402, 503rwhp493rwtq, 450rwtq@3k rpms) and the clutch could not hold the power. On the highway it would not hold 2/3/4 when getting nto it. I put a spec twin in, and no problems so far.
i installed a spec stage 3 and spec flywheel, the parts cost me $750.00 i did the work myself, it took me 10hrs, this was my 1st clutch install. i saved $850.00 in labor that is what TTP qouted me.
