Default Advice please

I don't know what to do.

I need (2) Toyo Proxes 295/35/18, National back order is killing me.
I bought the fronts (2) months ago... wish I had known then I would have bought all (4).

I can't find these tires, what should I do?

Should I put Goodyear GS-D3's on the rear? They have a very similar tread pattern. Is that a no-no?

I think you'll get a 50-50 as to if it's a no-no, what about the Vredestein ultrac sessanta? They are popular around here an have a somewhat similar tread design...

I'd pick up something used here on the forum cheap until the tires you want become available.

Did you do a GOOGLE search for the two tires? Ebay? Looked like a few shop were carrying the tire. Good luck.

I saw that on Ebay...should have stated that I need the T1-S not T1-R thanks.

I just can't get past that Vredestein tread pattern. I've read all post about them, I'm sure it's a great tire, but I really love the T1-S.

Thanks all.

I had the T1-S's on my '03 Z06 and did not like them. They were okay, but I found them noisy and they did not perform well in the rain. I put GY GS-D3s on my '04 this past summer, and love them. They handle really well, run great, good traction in wet weather. All around great tires.

I've seen the Vredestein tires, and I wish I'd known about them before putting on the GYs. I probably would have gone with the Sessantes. All reports say they are fabulous, and at the price, you can't beat them.

As for mixing tires, I would not do it on a car like the Corvette (or any car for that matter). Different tires, even with similar tread patterns, have different handling characteristics. If you push your car at all, like to drive even a little agressively with it, you may find that one end or the other will cause you problems, and the potential for an accident increases when predictability of handling decreases. If you can't match the tires you have, get a new set of 4 that do match, IMHO.

Call around to different tire shops. I was in a spot where I need ps2 in a hurry. I just started calling all the tire shops in the area. I spent some time on the phone but I ended up finding some. What I thought was funny was I called one shop and they said they did not have any. I call a vette shop, and they told me to call the same one and ask for John (John got me the tires )
