What he said. I would think at 44psi, your high pressure warning would be on all the time and the car would ride like a truck, with no shocks.

I have the Pilot AS Z/Ps on my 02 and am currently running them at 30 front/ 28 rear, just like the goodyears they replaced. I run slightly less in the rear because I was getting excess wear in the center of the rear tires.
Does your tire guy give you any reason for deviating so much from the factory recommendation?

Do not run them at 44 psi. That is way high. 30 psi cold would work or you can try 30 psi hot.
