Default 02 Headlight sometimes doesnt raise?

'02 Headlight sometimes doesnt raise? Sometimes it does. I dont hear any different sounds, no squeeking or continuous motor noise. I have checked/cleaned the connection.

That’s what happened to me. Then after a month or so, it started to make noise after the headlight cover closed. I just ordered the replacement brass gears.

It sounds like one of you nylon gears are shot. Just order the brass gears from Rodney Dickman, and follow the instructions in this thread, and you'll be good to go.

I have replaced both the left and right side nylon gears with brass gears. I have a consistent problem where the left headlight will not open. If I turn the manual **** to remove pressure on the motor mechanism, the headlight will open when I turn the switch on. It always goes down. I am wondering if there is an internal problem in the control module. It appears the module senses current flow to determine when the light is completely open or closed. When the assembly reaches the full open or closed position, it encounters a stop.

Any suggestions on what the problem is?
