A4`s, recommend fluid/filter change, COOLER running.
Hey guys,
As part of my last service,30K miles, I had a partial fluid change done with new filter (complete change requires flush machine process, quoted $159.), I am surprised how much cooler my temperature dropped. I am seeing it stay 15 to 20 degress cooler than oil and coolent temps, where as before they all seemed to be within 5/10 degrees before. So where as I would have seen say 198, I now see 175 or so. Seems like a nice improvement to me especially since I do down shift quite a bit. I also noticed my invoice had some kind of cleaner fluid listed as well ? Thought I mention it cause I think it is worth it and encourage it since the manual states 100K or 50K if you race.

I've heard good things about the new GM Dexron VI fluid.

Well it was from the GM Certified Chevy dealer last week, so yes, the latest and greatest was probably used. If it improved this much with partial change out, imagine a full change out.
I`m just saying many guys could do this partial, clean it up, new filter and still have a "worth it" improvement.
