I wanted to put in the true Xenon replacement bulbs but I was warned that I may have to change the relay in the wiring cause these new bulbs draw much more current than the stock ones??? Its a 2003 vette.
Actually the generic HID conversion kit uses 35 watts which is less than the standard halogen bulbs.
Many believe that the HIDs require higher voltage or wattage at startup.....but not sure if anyone actually measured this.
But many of us who have used generic HID conversion kits have found that a battery based, relay wiring harness helps provide stable voltage to the lights and resolves many of the odd quirks that sometimes present themselves with generic HID conversion kits.
Do a search on HID you will find tons of info here
