Okay, searched but didn’t find what I was looking for.. so if there is a thread out there I apologize now..
I’m trying to figure out how difficult it is to remove the clear bezel that resides in front of the gauge cluster. Over the years this has become VERY dusty inside and I would like to remove it to clean it.
Just look for a thread regarding installing the Guage Bezels, its the same process. Nice to add them BTW and not very hard. I can have the cluster out in less than 15mins so give yourself about 45 if you have not done it before. Again thou, not a hard process by any means.
After you get it out and get it generally clean you might want to try some 3M plastic polish to get rid of any light scratches or swirl marks. I use this stuff and it's completely amazing.

15 min. Dang, what is your process? I forgot to take out the airbag bulb on my 300 km speed cluster when I installed it with the HUD. I was dreading taking out the whole dash again. Do you just take out the two torx screws in the top and wiggle it out?

No its the usual process. Remove radio bezel, drop the lower panel, 4 7mm? bolts (if I remember correctly) drop the lower metal cage, 2 bolts to drop the column, 4 torx screws to remove cluster, unplug and pull out. I have just done it enough times now that it's a cake walk.
It helps to leave your key in (or turn off the easy entry/exit feature) so your steering wheel stays out all the way. I should replace all my screws and bolts with velcro, I've had that damn IPC out so often!

A seal is broken on the unit somewhere then. The interior of the cluster is assembled in a "clean room" completely and totally dust and lint free, because ANY lint or dust in the cluster will glow in the UV lighting that illuminates the markings. If you really mean the inside of the cluster is dusty, be extremely careful of creating more problems than are solved with additional lint and dust contamination from room air while the cluster is open.

No.. it's not that the gauges have dust inside them.. its the clear plastic cover that is over top of all the gauges..
