Default Winter?

I know this question pops up alot, but ohh well. I have a c4 right now and I was thinking about buying a c5 next year for college as a daily driver so I can work on my car and not have to worry about something breaking. I'm really not the type of person that will drive a beater so, heres my question, will I hurt a c5 by driving it in the winter?

At OSU, it snows only a couple of times and I can get a ride with my buddy during that time, the problem is it will be daily driven in cold weather. I was planning on using a block heater and a set of winter tires during the winter. Thank you for your help.

It shouldn't be a problem for you to drive a C5 in winter. They really aren't very good in the snow though. You really should fill out your profile so we'd know where you're from.

If you're roads are snow covered all winter, then you definitely need snow tires. Otherwise, a good set of all seasons might work if the occasional light snow is all you have to deal with.

I don't know how the winter weather is in Oklahoma, but here in VA it only snows a few times a winter. Usually it's 2 or 3 inches. If it's anymore than that, then I just take vacation or get a ride with a buddy. The main roads are never snow covered for more than 1 day. I've lived here my entire life and have only met one person that owns snows tires.

I also don't know how cold it gets at OSU. It was in the teens during the morning last winter and I was driving around on the stock run flats. They turn into concrete when it's that cold!

Ok, thank you for your help. And sorry about the lack of profile info, I had just set up this account. And it was Oregon State University not Oklahoma, and when it snows its really light and I can probably hitch a ride with my buddy once the snow hit the ground.
