I'm looking at a C5 that has had aftermarket rear chrome letteing, taillight and side marker trim added and it would have to go if I buy the car. Has anyone successfully removed these with or w/o damage and if so, how? I did a search and didn't find much......
Enjoy,

An application of heat and dental floss (or fine fishing line) will remove almost anything that is stuck on with adhesive. Then you can use GOOGONE, 3M Adhesive Remover, denatured alcohol or similar to remove any residual adhesive.

I used 3-m glue remover. You cn get it at most major auto stores & it works well. Now don't destroy the chrome, I might want it.........I love chrome.........then again I am old.
I agree with the OP. I don't like those letters in the brand indentations, or that other nonsense for that matter. I like it the way Chevy designers and engineers designed and created it.
I understand the chrome taillite bezels, etc, but why the chrome CORVETTE letters--they look GREAT!
I suspect it's a case of "to each, his own". I have never really been into BLING, so I would probably want to remove them. I just wouldn't want to do any damage to the original paint/clearcoat in the process!!
That is why you use the factory recommended procedure for removing the emblems which use adhesive tape, heat them up and remove them. Then use a paint safe adhesive remover to take off the remaining material.
