Had my '04 on the rack this past week and noticed one of the shocks was loosing fluid.
Has anyone replaced their shocks and if so, what brand/model did you go with??

Alot of guys go with c6 z06 shocks. I understand GM is still changing them so look for 2007+ shocks. The other way to go is with Bilstein HD shocks.

I am not sure if there is a big difference between the two sets. The c6 z06 shocks I think sale for about $240 and the Bilsteins are about $300.

Koni FSD's, hands down. Better handling, better ride. Although expensive, one of the best mods I put on the car.

I'm not ruling out any suggestions made above. But I can say from personal experience that Bilstien Sports are a great choice. They are a little bit firmer than the HD's. Also the dimensions are such that if you plan on lowering the car they will work better than stock. I have them on my coupe with Z06 monoleafs and swaybars, and oh man does it all work well together.

Thanks,
I'll check it out. I'd like to know what kind of difference each brand has to offer over stock.

Are you lowered? If so, I would put Bilstein Sports on that list.

Thanks for the info.
Sounds like a well designed shock. The valving for different road conditions really peaks my interest, especially in my area. You could be on one road that's smooth and turn on another and it's a pig path.

The Bilstein sports have a 1" shorter valving which works great when lowered on stock bolts. I have not used Konis, but I am very impressed with the performance my Bilstein Sports (also lowered on stock bolts), plus they are more affordable.

Talk about expensive? Wanted to go with more Callaway goodies on my C5, have a Power Group 1, priced their shocks. OMG!!!!!! How about $3000.00
Unless I turn the car into a track only, ain't gonna happen, that's out of the question.
