What's the name of the 9v plug-in (to the accessory socket) that keeps all the Vett's electrics running while the battery is being swapped? For the life o' me I can't think of a good name to look up.

Every time I've seen those things advertised - they make a disclaimer that they don't work on C5's. You really don't need it. Anytime I've swapped batteries - the most I've lost was the time on the clock and I had to re-synch my fobs.
If you've enabled the THEFT-LOK on the factory radio - remember to disable it before you take the battery out or else you have to go through the procedure to unlock it - assuming you know the code. If you don't, there is still a way to unlock the radio without a trip to the dealer.

They DO work on a C5 as I used one on mine last year at the local battery shop. I'd unhooked the battery over the winter and, yes, just radio presets were lost. No presets were lost at the battery store.
I just got off the horn to the local hi-end auto stereo shop and those things will only work on cars with energized aux outlets when the key is off. GM are this way but my Honda product isn't. I just proved that with my test light on the Honda too. So.........the 9v auxilliary won't work on the Honda and there's NO way I'm leaving the key on while I swap a battery! I don't want a fried $1000 computer.
