Default Borla

am looking for a Cat-Back system for my C5 that works well and sounds good, i have read that Borla is as good or better than most, anyone have any input on this, i would appreciate it, or any other systems that work well and are good value.

You will get the response you want if you post your question in the C5 Technical or even the C5 General sections of the Forum.

The help section is for questions about the Forum itself.

Love my Borla Stingers. They sound !
Some hate the drone at road speeds, but I personally don't experience any myself.
You should find some different owners with different systems, so that you can hear them live and in person.

The exhaust question is definitely one of personal taste and consequently, opinions will vary. Here's my feeling...

When you say "Borla", I presume you are talking about Borla Stingers. If that is indeed the case, here is what I would tell you:

1. Borla Stingers sound great... a very classic muscle car sound.
2. Borla Stingers are loud if you like 'em loud.
3. Borla Stingers have drone. Drone can be described as the constant bass-like sound you here in the background when you're on a freeway cruise. Keep in mind if you have headers or are planning to get headers in the future, the drone gets louder.

This third point is where people have different opinions strongly. If you are okay with drone and you like the classic muscle car sound, go for the Borla Stingers.

I had Borla Stingers for three months and the drone drove me crazy. For me, using a cell phone or carrying on a conversation was difficult... but not everyone will feel this way. If drone is an issue for you, I recommend Corsa Pace Car. This exhaust has no drone, even with headers. Best of all, when you step on it, the exhaust wakes up and gets nice and loud. It does have a higher pitched exotic exhaust note that not everyone likes. I think the exhaust note is great and I will never by another muffler set.

Hope this helps. I'm sure others will chime in as opinions do vary on this subject...

Check out GHL Bullets. There are several posts on here with audio/video clips. You get the muscle car sound WITHOUT the dreaded drone, you can't beat the quality, they have the smoothest flow from the muffler to the quad tips that I have seen on any system, and they are made entirely in the good ole USA.

I went with Magnaflow straight pipes with an x-pipe for only $400. You can't beat the quality and sound of Magnaflow!

borla def has many great systems for C5s. they sound great but the only problem ive heard with them is the dreaded drone but some ppl live with it or just dont mind it at all. i personally have the corsa pace car system and love it. dead quiet when cruising but mean when you step on it

good luck with whatever you choose

i've found that drone is easy to put up with in a vehicle you drive occasionally. something you drive day in day out for hours a day will drive you crazy though. i will never buy flowmasters again because of their excessive drone

Had Stingers. Liked the sound sometimes. Drone was terrible. Traded them for Ti's and will get cut-outs for the sound.
