I have a 97 w/o the memory option. I was in the process of swapping out the illumination for LEDs when i managed to crack the plastic (forgot which side had the metal retaining clip) Finding a replacement switchpanel w/o the memory option is proving to be almost impossible.
I noticed that the Memory version will fit in the same location. My question is will this harm my computer's circuitry?
On a side note is there a way to install memory on a non-memory car?
I don't think it would affect your BCM at all, it just won't know it's there. It appears the rest of the wirring you want to interface in the switch is the same...
Retroing Memory into your Vette might be pretty involved, I'd imagine you'd have to have all the electrical drive functions a Mem car has like telescoping steering wheel ect.. I think the seat tracks (motors) are different too, an SCM, flashing the BCM so it knows it's there....
I'm sure it's doable and I'm sure someone in here has done it!
