hello all,

i had a little encounter with a guardrail last week and owing to the taoal parts needed for a repair GEICO wants to total me out.

i'm wondering if there's a better route to take to get it repaired and avoid walking away. do i do better by going off on my own to take care of it? i'm getting the impression that the damage is on the borderline of the 70%-80% of vehicle value.

does anyone have any thoughts on this?

thanks

I say total it out and get your check for another one. What was damaged? Must have been a significant amount if they are wanting to total the vehicle out.

Your best bet is to total it and buy it back.
